3 Volvo’s core values ENVIRONMENTAL CARE QUALITY SAFETY

7 Lorum ipsum est Demanding customers are the best customers...
Another interesting fuel is gas. From a climate point-of-view, of course biogas produced from biomass is the most interesting. But the same kind of technology can also be applied to natural fossil gas. This can be one of the ways to ”smoothen” the transition from traditional fossil fuel technologies to future bio-based fuels! Since last year, Volvo Trucks produce the Methane-Diesel truck in serial production. The primary fuel for the truck is Biogas, where the biogas Methane is produced from waste! If the truck runs out of gas, it can without any problems be run on regular Diesel. This is a very good solution addressing both the climate and short-term practical considerations! Since a few years, the special snow sweeper application, based on an articulated hauler tractor unit, has been used for snow removal at some of the Swedish airports operated by Swedavia. Field test has been performed with the same kind of MethaneDiesel engines as for the trucks. The project is a cooperation between the customer Swedavia, operating Swedish airports, Volvo and the machine equipment supplier Schmidt. Looking forward, Volvo CE is of course open for new similar projects in cooperation with other partners. Niklas Nillroth
