12 The definitive database for nursing & allied health literature (since 2003 owned by EBSCO) The Glendale, California team has remained in place as an important part of EBSCO and will continue to be managed by June Levy at Glendale Adventist EBSCO is putting additional investment and resources into CINAHL to make it even more vital for nursing & allied health research The CINAHL Database

13 EBSCO has sent cancellation notices to providers of all other platforms –EBSCO originally had the goal of content sharing –Wolters Kluwer’s Ovid/LWW division made the decision to terminate EBSCO’s license for 20 LWW journals –EBSCO has since sent termination notices for the distribution of CINAHL and SPORTDiscus via the Ovid and SilverPlatter (WebSPIRS) platforms EBSCO will allow Ovid & SilverPlatter customers a transitional period with side by side access to the EBSCOhost interface at no additional charge (for both databases) EBSCOhost will become the exclusive platform for CINAHL & SPORTDiscus

14 Libraries will need to switch to the EBSCOhost platform, but there are considerable benefits to doing so: –Superior currency at no additional charge –Searchable cited references at no additional charge –Author profiles at no additional charge –Versions with hundreds of unique full text journals available for an additional fee –Versions with large backfiles of indexing, abstracts & PDFs available for an additional fee EBSCOhost will become the exclusive platform for CINAHL & SPORTDiscus
